Sapphire is an acrylic Dutch Pour on a 45 by 35 cm gallery wrapped canvas and was inspired by its namesake, the transparent precious September birthstone.  According to the crystal vaults website, to the ancient and medieval world, the sapphire stone signified the height of celestial hope and faith, and was believed to bring protection, good fortune and spiritual insight. It was a symbol of power and strength, but also of kindness and wise judgment.
