Imagine soft sand caressing your feet with each step you take.  Hear the sea gently lapping against the shore and the occasional seagull calling out to you, to let you know he is there watching you. Stretched as far as you can see is a pristine beach that seems to go on for miles and miles. Each time you cast your eyes on one mile beach you are taken to another place.  A place of peace and tranquility. A moment in time to catch your breath and find relief from a busy life. You may think One Mile Beach is just a figment of the artists imagination and in part, you would be right. The inspiration for the painting was based on Pendine Sands on the Carmarthen coast. A familiar place visited often by the artist while living in South Wales. Pendine Sands stretches for 7 miles and is famous for the land-speed record set by Sir Malcolm Campbell in 1923 in his car “Blue Bird”.
